Ron Maus is a Founding Member of MWL ADVISORY. He began providing services to clients as a financial statement auditor in 1979; in 1982 he commenced providing clients assistance in the analysis of damage claims issues in dispute and litigation matters. Ron’s practice focuses on construction and commercial disputes. He primarily works with public owners in review of construction claims on a variety of projects, but also works for contractors in preparing claims or reviewing claims of subcontractors. His commercial cases generally involve matters of breach of contract, lost profits, dealer termination, and intellectual property claims. He has provided general and litigation (economic damages) consulting through legal counsel to small and large private and public companies, municipal, county and state governments, and individuals, primarily throughout the western United States.
He has been retained to assist numerous companies in scores of industries, in both commercial and construction matters. As example commercial engagements, he has been involved with matters involving intellectual property rights of high-tech and low-tech companies and breach of contract and lost profit claims of manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, of medical, consumer, and technology products. On construction matters, among a wide variety of projects, he has provided claim review assistance to electrical, telephone, water, and wastewater utilities, private construction such as casinos and adult care facilities, universities, hospitals, school districts, public improvement districts, and municipal, county and state builders of roads, tunnels, bridges, rail-lines, and airports, as well as manufacturing facilities. In addition, Ron has prepared claims on large public projects, and has been involved with a number of shipbuilding matters.
Ron has provided deposition and / or oral testimony in U.S. District Courts in Alaska, Washington, Florida, and Oregon, and state courts in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Nevada, and California, arbitration proceedings in Washington, Idaho, and Nevada, before administrative law judges in Oregon and Alaska, and the London Court of International Arbitration.
